Privacy Policy

The short version

• We don't require an account. You can use every tool on the site without telling us who you are.
• Invitations are stored at unguessable URLs (like /i/abc123). We don't list them publicly, and they're not indexed by search engines.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't run third-party tracking scripts beyond basic anonymous analytics.
• If you want an invitation deleted, email privacy@datebooknow.com with the URL and we'll remove it within 48 hours.

What we collect

When you create an invitation, we store the information you provided — the date, time, activity, food, your name (if you entered it), the recipient's name (if you entered it), and any short message you wrote. We also store a timestamp and a view/share/RSVP counter.

We do not collect: your email, your name (unless you type it into an invitation), your phone number, your IP address (beyond what's needed for our server logs), or any identifying information about who you're inviting.

Anonymous analytics

We run a small, first-party analytics system that counts events like "invitation generated" and "share button clicked." These events are completely anonymous — they don't include your IP, your user agent, or any identifying information. We use them only to understand which tools are useful and which need improvement.

Cookies

DateBookNow does not set any cookies. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising script.

Invitation links

Every invitation gets a short, random, unguessable URL — typically 9 characters of base36 (e.g. /i/abc123def). The URL is the only way to access the invitation. We don't publish these URLs anywhere. Search engines are instructed not to index them via our robots.txt.

If you share the URL with someone, they can view the invitation. If you don't, no one can. There's no way to "discover" invitations you haven't been sent.

Deleting your data

To delete an invitation, email privacy@datebooknow.com with the invitation URL. We'll remove it from our database within 48 hours. You don't need to explain why.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs for security and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs include IP addresses and are typically rotated within 7 days. We don't access these logs unless we're investigating abuse.

Children's privacy

DateBookNow is not intended for users under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an invitation, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this privacy policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and link to the previous version on request. We'll never quietly weaken our privacy commitments.
